Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard Review
The Keychron C1 tenkeyless mechanical keyboard is an ideal unit for office use, and it can suit any other use as well because it is versatile. It is built to be sturdy and has a plastic frame that flexes just enough.
There are no key wobbles or rattles, plus they’re very stable while you type. It features a hot swappable with full RGB lighting and individual backlight keys if that is not enough. But if you need a non-hot-swappable version, you can still get it, and every version features either a Brown, Blue, or Gateron Red switch. Let’s find out the features.

Appearance and Aesthetics
The Keychron C1 features full RGB lighting and individually backlit keys. Also, the excellent color mixing is ambient, with a very slight pink tint added to the white lighting. You may cycle around lighting presets using a button found on the upper right of the keyboard. Even though most models have full RGB, there’s a wide range of this superior keyboard with only white backlighting. The Keyboard height can be adjusted to 2 different levels for ergonomics.
It also uses a mixture of black and white keycaps and only the [ESC] key that uses a striking orange keycap.
Build Quality
This keyboard comes with a great, strong feeling frame like that of Keychron C2. It feels great to type on; it just flexes enough. The keys of this unit are very stable, while the keycaps are made from Doubleshot ABS, but the good thing with them is that they don’t show any oil shine from your fingers.
The feet also are stable and don’t collapse that easily when you change the position of the keyboard. The Keychron C1 has an 80 percent standard TenKeyLess layout and boasts 84 keys. Further, this unit has a Standard American design and the standard cross stem like what the cherry MX keys use which is good for finding replacement keycaps if you like customizing the look of your keyboard
Key switches used and quality
The keys of this keyboard come with standard spacing, and it feels very stable with no wobbling and rattling, even on the larger keys. The Keychron C1 I am using comes with tactile Gateron Brown switches and gives excellent typing experience with excellent feedback, although the pre-travel is somewhat lengthy.
It is also a fairly quiet keyboard when paired with red or brown Gateron key switches.
This keyboard is also available with other Gateron switches like clicky blues and linear reds
Sadly, it comes with a high profile, and it doesn’t have a wrist rest with it, so you experience wrist fatigue while you type for long. Since this keyboard is hot swappable, you can use switches that you prefer. Further, because this keyboard comes with Gateron switches, you will have good typing experience. You don’t need to use force to actuate the switches.
Keycaps quality
This keyboard features very stable keycaps that ensure stability whenever you are typing. The keys are individually lit with complete RGB lighting, offering you more comfortable operations. Additionally, these keycaps are designed from high-quality ABS materials for prolonged usage. With a color mixing of slight pink tint to white lighting, you will have a more enjoyable typing experience.
Conclusion
We have now come to a close on our review of the Keychron C1 keyboard. As you’ve seen, there are many impressive things regarding this exceptional unit. Some of the key features that make this keyboard outstanding are its typing quality, lighting system, cable, and affordable price.
