How to Find a Missing Smartphone? (For Android and Google Phone)
Missing Smartphone? Smartphones are one of the easily lost pieces of device in the world due to how thin and small they became. It has also been frequent because smartphones have become part of modern living and almost no one can leave their home without their phones.
Losing a smartphone can sometimes be a nightmare as they are now more than phones and more like portable personal computers. Sensitive data like bank accounts and IDs could be saved in a smartphone, the consequences of it falling into the hands of bad actors would be horrible.
Use your google account to find your missing smartphone
This will only work if your phone is connected to the internet via data or Wi-Fi connection. If you have access to your google account, you can track the estimated location of your phone.
All you need to do is open your google account and look for the “Security” tab.
Scroll down and find the “Your Devices” list that has all your devices listed under the google account you are using. Click “Find Device”
Select the smartphone that is missing.
You will be directed to a page that will show you a pinned location where the phone is currently connected to the internet. (I will not show a sample of the map to protect my identity)
On the left side you’ll see a list of possible actions you can do to help you retrieve your phone.
If the phone is just nearby, you can make it ring for 5 minutes, even if your phone is set to silent/vibrate mode
You can also lock and log out the accounts in your device. This can also help you show a message and phone number to contact if ever a good Samaritan picked up your phone. You can still track the phone even if you logged out the accounts.
If the phone is unretrievable, you can delete all data remotely, you will not be able to track the phone after this.
