What is a Good Weight for a Gaming Mouse?
The ideal weight for a gaming mouse can vary depending on personal preference and the type of games you play. At the same time, others prefer a heavier mouse for added stability which I often see in RTS and other less hectic games.
Which Weight for a Gaming Mouse Should You Choose?
On average, most gaming mice weigh between 100 and 130 grams. If you prefer a lighter mouse, you may want to look for one that is on the lower end of this range. If you prefer a heavier mouse, you may want to look for one that is on the higher end of this range. Though there are companies that offer ultralight gaming mice that would weigh around 50 to 80 grams, this has been a trend lately with most gaming mice manufacturing. The honeycomb design also had been extremely popular in the gaming space.
It’s also worth noting that many gaming mice come with adjustable weights, so you can customize the weight to your liking. If you’re not sure what weight is best for you, you may want to consider a mouse with adjustable weights so you can experiment and find the perfect weight for your needs.

As a rule of thumb, you should always consider what games you play and how much arm movement those games require to be efficient in playing them. If you are an esports player that needs an ultralight mouse, try the mice that weigh between 50-90 grams, if you are not really an esports player, 100 -120 grams is a good middle ground.

Logitech G Pro X Superlight
This is one of the most popular gaming mice in the esports scene and also an extremely popular ultra-light mouse. It is a traditional ambidextrous design with no RGB and weighs around 60 grams which is very impressive for a wireless mouse that has a battery built inside it. It also packs one of the best sensors for a gaming mouse, the HERO 25k sensor. Its dimension is 125x64x40mm (LxWxH) which makes this mouse a bit chunkier compared to the two mice above it which make this mouse suitable for claw grip.
Cooler Master MM720
If you really like ultra-light mice, you’ll love this one as it only weighs around 50 grams. This is absolutely light that it is hard to notice if there is even a drag when gaming. The only negative I could say about this mouse is that it is wired and a tiny mouse. Its dimension is only 105x78x37mm (HxWxL), which is super small, you won’t be palm gripping this, only claw grip.
